Claude Skills
A growing library of free, opinionated Claude skills and a global instructions template. Memory layers for getting more out of Claude Code and the desktop app.
Context tiers you configure
Claude doesn't have one place where you tell it how to behave. It has tiers, and they stack. These are the three you set up yourself. (For the full picture, including how your message and fetched data fit in, see Intro to Claude Context.)
1. Global instructions
Always on. Who you are, what you do, how you want to be talked to. Every conversation, every project. Keep this short. Anything universal goes here so you stop typing it.
2. Project instructions
Rules for one workspace. The stack, the conventions, the commands, the
landmines. In Claude Code this is CLAUDE.md at the repo
root. In the desktop app it's a project's custom instructions. This is
where you encode what's true about this work that isn't true
everywhere.
3. Skills
Recipes for how to do something. One skill, one job. Pulled in on demand when a task matches. Skills let you build a personal toolkit instead of rewriting the same five paragraphs of guidance into every project.
